ERA 2 START
Era 2 starts Tuesday, April 28, at 1 PM GMT (8 AM EDT, 5 AM PDT).
PREPARATION
ENGINE HOUSE
The engine house can be upgraded to level 11.
This is your number one priority when era 2 starts. Keep in mind these EH upgrades take several hours to build, so plenty of time to stockpile your cash. Max number of engines in Era 2 are 11. Total cost for EH 8 through EH 11 is $6,000.000 (less if you have a 20% reduction in station building cost voucher).
TRAINS
Goal: LYNX
Tractive Force: 3 (max: 5)
Reliability: 60% (max: 80%)
Acceleration: 13/20 (max: 17/20)
Speed: 135 km/h (max: 160 km/h)
Purchase Cost: $150,000 (with all upgrades $358,000)
Spaces taken in EH: 1
Lynx is fast just like the Falcon. If you didn't get coupling for era 1, it's okay to buy Panthers or if you want a quick train, Bats to haul era 2 goods. However, by taking route A, you'll get Lynx pretty quickly, so it's recommended that you not get fully-tricked trains until Lynx. Do not buy the Lynx until you have upgraded the railcar capacity (tractive force), since the base Lynx only hauls 3 cars.
The bonus engine this era is the Bull.
BULL
Tractive Force: 7
Reliability: 90%
Acceleration: 5/20
Speed: 110 km/h
